In the area:

Our beautiful Hotel Kvika is situated at Þorlákshafnarvegur, road 38.

It is perfectly located:

40 min drive from Reykjavík - Iceland's capital50 min from Keflavík International airport10 min drive from Hveragerði10 min drive from Þorlákshöfn25 min drive from Selfoss

In the past years this part of Iceland has been growing and developing. More and more people prefer to move away from Reykjavik to Hveragerði and Selfoss to avoid the hassle of city life. Given its close proximity to the capital many work there but live here. This results in a stronger community in the area with more service, restaurants, cultural activities and shopping.

Recently (2021) Selfoss celebrated a “new” city center. The old town has been rebuilt resulting in 35 historic buildings, previously damaged by fire or that had fallen into disrepair. This has been reconstructed to form a unique cultural center.

Please contact our reception for further information on the area if needed.
